AIST 3 Career Assessment Test

Find your career path!

The General Interest Structure Test (AIST-3 for short) is a scientifically validated, computer-based career assessment test.

Are you wondering which career path you’d like to pursue after graduation? So many possibilities, yet so few ideas? With the AIST-3, you’ll answer simple questions to identify the three most relevant interest groups out of six. And then? Together with a counselor from the Career Center team, you’ll discuss potential career paths and fields of work that might align with this combination of three interest groups. A catalog of job profiles tailored specifically to the Austrian market is also available to help inspire you.

Please note: The AIST-3 test is administered in German!

If you are interested in an AIST-3, send an email with the subject line “AIST3_First Name_Last Name” to 
beratung.careercenter(at)univie.ac.at with the following information:

  • a student or graduate of the University of Vienna or
  • a college graduate registered with AMS Vienna.
  • If you are registered with the AMS, please include your registration letter with your email.
  • First and last name
  • Date of birth
  • Phone number

Please note: The AIST-3 is free for graduates registered with the AMS Vienna. Students and graduates pay 39 euros. You will receive further information via email.

 The assessment process consists of an online questionnaire—which takes 10–15 minutes to complete—and a 60-minute feedback session via MS Teams, and provides you with information on the following questions:

  • What are my career interests?
  • To what extent can my preferences be combined in specific jobs?
  • What career paths might I not have considered yet?

  • Students and graduates of the University of Vienna: 39 euros
  • AMS Vienna clients: free with a Career Center add-on—see information sheet

Included in the price: completion of the online questionnaire (approx. 10–15 minutes), results report (approx. 45 pages, including a catalog of job profiles), and a feedback session with a counselor (approx. 60 minutes).

The AIST-3 is not

  • intended to identify talents, abilities, or competencies.
